Korgialenios Library
The Korgialenios municipal library of Argostoli was bequeathed by Marinos Korgialenios and is housed in an attractive building behind the ‘Kefalos’ municipal theatre.
It is the third largest library in Greece, with over 59,000 volumes as well as many exceptionally rare texts and manuscripts dating from 1535 onwards.
These include a significant number of manuscripts, chiefly Byzantine music, as well as a large archive of newspapers and magazines from Kefalonia and other Ionian islands.
It also hosts a collection of works of art by P. Charokopou.
