Horgota Beach
With the shine of Hollywood
Another unique beach of Kefalonia is that of Horgota, 6,5 kilometers from Komitata in the Sami area. In order to reach this beach, one must enter the Komitata settlement and follow the route to Aghia Sofia. Xorgota is a pebbled beach, with wonderful crystal clear waters and with a wild natural beauty.
It isn’t a particularly organized beach but, as a location, it has other advantages. It became known as Pelagia’s beach in the movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, thus obtaining a bit of Hollywood air.
