Sandy and tranquil, suitable for families
Avithos is a beautiful, sandy and very clean beach at the end of the village of Kaligata in Livathos. It has shallow waters and is surrounded by tall, steep cliffs and looks to the small island of Dias. It is located in the southern part of the island, close to the airport and just a few kilometers from Argostoli. The view from the small island across is unique and it’s well worth a visit.
One can go there by either following the route towards the village of Svoronata or through the village of Kaligata. The beach isn’t that big, but it offers two good taverns, a beach bar, umbrellas and parking, meaning that you will find something to eat or drink until sunset. Further off, you can pass from Avithos beach to Megali Petra beach, but this beach isn’t organized, so it would be a good idea to have water or anything else you may need beforehand.
